International Day of Midwives 2026 Celebration

Sukaina College of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Sciences, Khanpur proudly marked International Day of Midwives 2026, reiterating its dedication to advancing the midwifery profession and elevating the standard of care for mothers and newborns.

Ms. Musarrat Rani, Principal of Sukaina College of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Sciences and First Vice President of the Midwifery Association of Pakistan (MAP), delivered a keynote address, underscoring the profound impact of the ICM 2026 global theme, “One Million More Midwives.” She stressed the imperative need to prioritize investments in midwives’ education, training, and empowerment, ensuring that every woman and newborn receives exceptional, respectful, and evidence-based care. Ms. Rani highlighted that increasing the number of skilled midwives is crucial for reducing maternal and neonatal mortality rates and fortifying health systems worldwide.

Ms. Musarrat Rani inspired students and midwifery professionals to strive for excellence, embracing lifelong learning, leadership, and evidence-based practice, ultimately enhancing the health and well-being of mothers, newborns, and communities.
