Dufferin Hospital, Karachi Pakistan
The Cowasjee School of Midwifery, Lady Dufferin Hospital, Karachi Pakistan, celebrated the International Day of Midwifery (IDM) on MAY 6, 2015. The President and Chairperson of the education committee of Midwifery Association of Pakistan (MAP) graciously honored the event with their presence at the school. After cake cutting ceremony midwifery students performed a walk in the hospital with banners in their hand highlighting the role and scope of midwifery in Pakistan. These students also delivered speeches on midwifery profession and its impact on health system of Pakistan in general and the maternal, neonatal and child health of Pakistan in particular and persuaded young ladies to join this noble profession. Midwifery students of Cowasjee School of Midwifery also attended IDM and midwifery conference at PACC auditorium organized by Midwifery Association of Pakistan on May 5, 2015 where midwifery students had the opportunity to meet with midwifery leaders and stakeholders and they also attended many informative and skill sessions.
