Dr. Nazia Ilyas, Joint Secretary Midwifery Association of Pakistan, Highlights Launch of 4-Year Midwifery Degree Program at Fatima Jinnah Medical University.
Lahore (May 21, 2026): On the occasion of International Midwifery Day 2026, Fatima Jinnah Medical University, in collaboration with the Government of Punjab and UNFPA, officially launched a 4-Year Midwifery Degree Program.
On this occasion, Dr. Nazia Ilyas, Joint Secretary of the Midwifery Association of Pakistan, appreciated the progress made in the promotion, awareness, and professional development of midwifery through the Association’s platform, calling it an important milestone.
She stated that this program is a significant step toward strengthening maternal and newborn health systems in Pakistan.
